Tyra Banks’ contemporary-style Pacific Palisades California home was on the market since May for $9.25 million and just sold for $8.9M.
1990s supermodel turned talk show host and host of “America’s Next Top Model” Tyra Banks, is smiling at finally selling her Pacific Palisades home. The contemporary house sold last week for $8.9 million, a little less than the $9.25 million it had been asking since hitting the market in May.
The 6,135-square-foot home, designed by Douglas Breidenbach, has an open courtyard with a dining pavilion, an outdoor kitchen with fireplace, an office, a media room, a maid’s suite, and boasts both mountain and ocean views.
The private upper floor master suite with grand entertainment terrace and private ocean view lounge, and is close to the soon to be completed Curuso Village, according to the listing with James Respondek and Heidi Lake of Sotheby’s International Realty, who did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Additionally, the home, located at the point of the bluff on a 14,428-square-foot lot, is walled and gated for security.
Ms. Banks, 44, purchased the five bedroom, seven bath home in 2016 for $7.35 million, through a trust attached to her mother, according to property records. The former model often uses her mother’s name for her real estate purchases, records show.
Ms. Banks, a California native, is currently judging the 13th season of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” and is no stranger to real estate. In 2016, she sold her long-time Beverly Hills home for $6.33 million, and in March she purchased another Pacific Palisades home for $6.99 million.
Ms. Banks also owns a 7,000-square-foot Manhattan duplex in Battery Park City that she purchased in 2009 for $10.13 million. The five-bedroom penthouse, though currently unlisted, was last asking $17.5 million in October 2017.
