The architecture firm Ward & Blohme built the home in 1914 for just $30,000 for Armenian sculptor Haig Patigian. Ward & Blohme also designed Machinery Hall and San Fransisco’s new firehouses after the city’s disastrous earthquake in 1906. Patigan himself designed the decorative façade panels for the home. He also created the John Pershing statue in Golden Gate Park.
